Koh Phi Phi Don has 2 seasons : hot and dry season ; and cool and wet season and the temperature rarely drops below 27C year round. There can be rain during the 'dry' season, as well gloriously sunny spells for sometimes for a week during the height of 'rainy' season.

October - March - Generally good weather, low rainfall and average temperatures 30-32C(90F)
April - May - Very hot and humid. Temperatures reaching 38C(95F)
June - September - Variable. Temperatures average 30C (90F) About an 80% chance of rain in June and September, but remember, it doesn't rain all the time!

BANK and ATM

Siam Commercial Banks can be found on the main street, Siam Commercial Bank are the first to install an ATM dispenser on Koh Phi Phi Don. Services will include foreign exchange, deposits and transfers of funds, as well as automatic cash transfers for both foreign and Thai tourists visiting the island.
Krung Thai Bank has an exchange booth in the middle of the village.

Shopping: Phi Phi Don has plenty of souvenir shops, clothing stores and shops catering specifically to travellers needs. Local shops offer everything from jewellery and clothes to sports equipment and CDs. There are also two mini-marts and a supermarket.

BARS

• Apache Bar - a multi-story bar overlooking Ton Sai. And the home of the weekly transvestite shows. Good place for dancing on Saturdays.
  
  
• Beach Bar - located right in the tsunami wastelands and a good choice for those looking to have a quiet drink.
  
  
• Carlitos Bar - relaxed drinks on the beach served by amiable waitresses. During the winter months this place is full of Scandinavian party goers. It is an open-air bar with a pretty good size dance floor, that has every type of dance music you could want: Hip-hop, trance, house, etc. The drinks are fairly strong here, so it is a good place to start off the night.

RESTAURANTS

Thai food on Phi Phi Don is well prepared, beautifully presented and delicious. Using the freshest ingredients from the sea and land, the Thai people create an varied cuisine. The restaurants serve delicious, delicately flavoured Thai dishes. There are also plenty of western-oriented eateries where familiar fast food items are available.

Areeda Restaurant is Phi Phi's Don biggest restaurant. Their capacity is up to 600-700 persons. In front of the restaurant is a green lawn with coconut grove leads on to 300 metres white sand private beach.

Jasmin Restaurant - Located right on the beach in between Holiday Inn and Zeavola. Whatever they caught that day is the menu. cooked right in front of you. Delicious fish and a location to die for.

Le Grande Bleu - a French/Thai restaurant with a teak interior, deck furniture and the overall feel of a pleasant dinning experience. They offer a three-course menu with choice of some eight starters, main courses and deserts for 350 baht

Pluto Il Geltato - Good coffee can be hard to find. But when I can find somewhere that serves Illy Coffee its worth a mention - Espresso 60 baht, Latte or Cappuccino 80 baht.

Cosmic: an Italian restaurant that is genuinely Italian owned and is represented by two separate branches on the island. Both places serve great Italian food with the pizzas reputedly being the best on Phi Phi Don

Hibachi: is a Japanese restaurant that offers a very popular all-you-can-eat deal - Tonsai Bay

Papaya: is a small food outlet serving traditional Thai dishes at something like regular Thai prices -Tonsai Beach

Little Britain: as with any popular Thai destination, the expat crowd has made their mark and this British-owned and British-themed
establishment is the place to head -Tonsai Bay

Oasis: serves moderately priced but relatively authentic and well presented Thai food, hence why there are often long waits to be served of an evening.

Top Ten Burger: having travelled half-way around the world, treat yourself to that popular western delicacy known as the burger.

Carpe Diem: stylish Thai and international food in a very pleasing beachside environment. The restaurant is two-tiered and of an evening,
